We will have our regular springtime congregational meeting on the 8th of June, and it will be an important one. We now have listed 75 members on our rolls, and at our last meeting in March, we counted thirty seven present - a clear quorum and a decent turnout by our usual standards. Especially considering that it was a special meeting, called to vote on the architect's plan.
I will take some time before this next meeting calling those of you whom I have not seen lately, in the hope that I can re-ignite your enthusiasm for our work. We have come a long way, homeless band that we are, and we can now begin to see a clear end to this exile from our home land. We are soon to begin building, and we need every hand available to share in this special task.
It's been said that no endeavor worthy of being called "great" can be completed in a single lifetime. We are but stewards for our time of an institution that began in 1868, exactly 140 years ago. We are completing the seventh generation and will launch the eighth with this project. I hope and expect that the Fellowship we pass along will thrive and grow so that in the year 2148 the members of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Rock Tavern will look back at our work and think it great.
Yours in Faith and Gratitude,
Mike Landrum
