July Services

An
exploration of what it might mean for us to share both
our gifts and needs, and move from independence to
interdependence - in our congregation, our nation, and
our world.
Led by Terri Pahucki.
For
some, a daily habit of keeping a journal is one path
toward a richer spiritual and creative life. In this
service, we will look at some famous journal keepers
and excerpts of their writing, as well as a
brief overview of Julia Cameron's, "The Artist's Way,"
a step by step guide on how to begin the
practice of daily journal writing and its
benefits.
Led by Marcia Roth Tucci.
Hollis Kellogg will share the ideas of the Rev. Wayne
Arnason, a UU minister, who has looked at what the
faithful of various religions practice as spiritual
disciplines, such as fasting, prayer, meditation,
etc. Hollis will then lead a discussion about the
role of such spiritual disciplines in Unitarian
Universalism.
Led by Hollis Kellogg.

Mindfulness practices can help us bring peace into our
lives right now. Using teachings from a variety of
spiritual teachers, including Chan Master Sheng Yen,
Zen Buddhist Thich Nhat Hanh, and author Eckhart Tolle,
Alison Fornes will help us better understand and apply
mindfulness practices to daily life.
Led by Alison Fornes.

America's finest nature poets. It has been said

source of revelation. Marina Penzner will talk
about how Mary Oliver's poetry has been influenced by
her life and beliefs, and will share some of her
poems.
Led
by Marina Penzner.
